I thought smoking was banned in MS in May... Not at Seikisui. A lady smoked 3 cigarettes at the bar... Seemed to be cool with the sushi chef. Tried hibachi for the first time. The fried rice had the typically veggies in it & some extra: green beans, corn & Lima beans! Why are there lima beans in a sushi restaurant I'm not sure. Overall the experience was good staff was friendly and attentive.

Got the usual; 40 Kel and combination rice.... can't go wrong. Pretty sad that I had to come here after leaving Akita Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse. Got the cool yet wild and crazy hair waiter as well. The musty smell in restaurant is what made me take away a star.

So what I have gathered from other reviews is that this place is wishy washy. My visit was on a thursday afternoon during the not so "peak hour" at this location. As my hotel is south east of the restaurant, I walked, and I found the explanation of "use other door" kind of vague. I got to the next door and found no handle. What next? keep going and look for another door. Finally I was able to enter. No host/ess. I stood awkwardly for a few minutes before just going and sitting at the shushi bar. I will not judge a book by its cover. This place looks like it is trying a little too hard to be a good restaurant to bring customers in. Also maybe its a little dusty. Definitely not a traditional Japanese restaurant. A lot of "bros" working. The service was outstanding! My waiter was always attentive, informative, and willing to serve(doing his job). If more people would just do their job, we would all be happier. My drink never ran low and I never had to do the awkward raising of my hand to grab anyones attention. The food. I ordered the Dragon roll, California roll, and the clear soup. Both the sushi rolls were absolutely delicious. No complaints there. The clear soup on the other hand just tasted like it was generic and out of the store. It also contained some crunchy wonton flakes, i guess, green onion and mushrooms. It was tolerable. Ive had much better. Overall experience, I will be returning to this location on different hours to see if they have it in them to change my opinion and get that last star. What helped them get it the fourth was the service and the fact that they are military discount friendly!

I brought my family here with me when they wanted to visit my classroom. This is my favorite place to go to for sushi in the Southaven area and my family was really impressed as well. I don't like the salad here or the clear soup, but the miso soup is great. My family all wanted hibachi so we all got different kinds. Everyone was super impressed with their meal. Oh my goodness what can I say about the Fire? It wasn't all that spicy to me but it was sooo tasty. It's a little odd at first because the top portion is really warm and the rice portion is cold, so that combo takes a moment to get used to. But once I did I just couldn't get enough. It was my coworkers fav as well so we made sure to portion it out evenly so we wouldn't devour too much by ourselves. I found out I disliked Shrimp in my Hibachi but the chicken tasted great as normal. They also decorated for Halloween and it looks awesome! Also you can text a code on a sticker on the menus to get a random coupon. HEADS UP!! Make sure to show your waiter the text so they can print you a receipt. Love: - Chicken Hibachi - Chicken and Scallop Hibachi - Crunchy Shrimp Roll - Egg Rolls - Filet Minion and Chicken Hibachi (medium) - Fire Roll (ABSOLUTE FAV-ask for spicy!) - Matsui 55 - Miso Soup - Red Birds Roll - Rock N Roll - Sunrise Roll - Volcano Roll (good with soy) Ok: - Chicken Teriyaki - Clear Soup - Filet Minion Hibachi - Grizzlies (good with soy sauce and ginger) - House Salad (good some days and bad some days) - Scallops (not good alone) - Sekisui Roll - Surf and Turf Roll Ehh: - Crunchy Crab - Crunchy Shrimp - Gyoza - Hurricane Roll - Fuji Roll - Sekisui Roll - Shrimp Hibachi - Spicy Shrimp Roll - Steak Hibachi

This place just seems out of place in Southaven. It's not in the busiest part of town either, so walking in to the LOUD music and dark atmosphere just seems weird. I went for lunch right after they started offering hibachi, and they weren't serving it at lunch to my disappointment. A bento box that had meat "similar" to hibachi was offered to me, and it was just alright. I'd probably give 2.5 stars to this restaurant if that was an option, and I'm a fair man who rounds appropriately.

One star for this restaurant and that's just because their music was Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and other Motown. The food was poor, overlooked and the server (in a restaurant with 4 people in it) got our order wrong twice. Skip this place and go to Longhorn across the road, at least they don't have the air conditioning set to "freeze the balls off" setting. Oh, we told them and nobody cares even though they asked, "how was it..."

I'm a fan of this chain, however it grossed me out that they allow smoking inside. It's a restaurant! Ew! The bartender was a little slow and forgot our chop sticks and seemed distracted. The food is amazing as always, but I prefer the Memphis locations. Perhaps it was just an off night. I would got back, but I wasn't by any means blown away.

Extremely friendly and knowledgable staff. Had a wonderful time coming here. The sushi orders were fully customizable and the staff welcomed any changes to the particular sushi ordered. Not too shabby for a sushi place in Mississippi!

Can here in afternoon for lunch. First time and the last... Sat down for hibachi. Took about 30 before anyone came out. Ordered sprite and got sugar water. Gave us dinner meal and no lunch meal. Plates were very dirty. Real bad service. Will never go back

The service was very slow..although our waitress was nice but spread to thin. My order was wrong and 96 bucks later...don't think we will return here. Will make the trip to midtown instead!

The Halloween decor was amusing but missed the water feature. The food was good and the chef was great.

This is our favorite sushi bar! The redbird roll, the fire roll and the hound dog rolls are our favorites. The hound dog roll is topped with seared white tuna. We prefer to sit at the bar and watch them make the rolls. The sushi chefs and hibachi chefs are friendly and fun. The prices are reasonable.

Seems like this place is under new management. The reason I know this is that the guy making sushi rolls and a waitress were talking about it in front of all the customers. They were soooooo unprofessional and were complaining loudly about how the new manager was stupid and lazy. How about you keep that talk to yourselves and not in front of the customers. Also the waitress was telling the sushi guy how little one table tipped her. I don't blame them if she acted like this around them! Food is ok but portions are small and prices are high. I had the dancing mango roll. The mango sauce had some weird iridescence like an oil slick on wet asphalt. I also ordered tempura soft shell crab, which was a tiny portion. Not worth the 25 bucks I spent.
